I'm vegetarian, pescatarian or keep kosher. Can I get enough protein to do this?

Yes. Vegetarian, pescatarian or kosher, your coach builds your nutrition plan around the way you already eat. Eggs, fish and seafood, plus Greek yogurt and cottage cheese if you eat dairy, can do a lot of the heavy lifting. Your coach plans every meal inside your rules, so you never have to bend a generic plan to fit.

You don't have to start eating chicken.

You don't have to cook two dinners.

You just need a plan that was built for your kitchen from the start.

Why does so much nutrition advice feel like it wasn't written for you?

Hey ladies, listen up.

If you don't eat meat, or you keep kosher, you already know the feeling.

Every plan starts with chicken breast. The swaps are an afterthought. And you're left to figure out the rest on your own.

A lot of the women we talk to tell us they've been handed a generic plan before, one that looked like it could have come off the internet, and none of it fit how they eat.

Some of them open their call with Chris by warning him they'll be a "difficult case."

Here's the thing.

Every woman we coach eats a little differently. Allergies, family dinners, a husband who won't touch fish, a kosher kitchen. Building around real life is the whole point of a personalized plan.

Why does protein matter so much after 40?

Your body is changing in perimenopause, and muscle tends to be one of the first things it lets go of when it isn't given a reason to stay.

Chris says it simply: "Muscle is metabolism."

Protein is what your body uses to hold on to that muscle, and to build more of it when you strength train.

Most women come to us wanting to lose weight. What they actually want to lose is fat.

Enough protein, at every meal, is a big part of how you lose fat and keep the muscle that makes you strong. That's true whether or not meat is on your plate.

For the full picture, read how much protein you need in perimenopause.

What does protein look like if you're vegetarian or pescatarian?

Simpler than you think.

We start with a palm-sized portion of protein at each meal, and your coach sets the right amount for your body and goals. No grams to count.

Here's where that protein tends to come from:

  • Eggs. Quick, flexible and easy at breakfast. For a lot of the vegetarians we coach, eggs do a big share of the work.
  • Fish and seafood. If you're pescatarian, this is your strongest card. Salmon, shrimp, white fish, a can of tuna on a busy day.
  • Greek yogurt and cottage cheese, if you eat dairy. Easy protein, once dairy is back after the first 14 days.
  • Beans and lentils, as a side. They help. They also bring a lot of carbs along with their protein, so your coach decides how they fit, especially early on.

Your coach takes the foods you actually like and builds your meals around them.

That's the part most plans skip.

What about the first 14 days without dairy?

Good question, and it matters most for vegetarians.

For the first 14 days, the plan is lower carb and higher protein, with a short break from alcohol, dairy, gluten and processed sugar. Then those foods come back.

If yogurt and cheese are a big part of how you eat, that break needs a plan.

So your coach plans those two weeks with you:

  • Eggs lead the way. At breakfast, and more often than you might expect at lunch and dinner too.
  • Fish shows up more, if you eat it.
  • Meals are mapped out ahead. No standing in the kitchen wondering what's left.

It's two weeks. Then dairy comes back, and your options open up again.

Curious why we take that short break at all? Here's what the first 14 days do for the bloat.

I keep kosher. Will that work?

Yes.

Your coach builds your plan around kosher rules, the same way she builds around any woman's kitchen.

Your meals, your recipes and your family dinners all fit inside them.

You don't have to explain or defend how you eat. Tell your coach once, and the plan is built that way from the start.

Do I need protein powder?

No.

Protein powder is optional. Whole foods come first.

Some of the women we coach like a shake on a busy day, when the other choice is skipping a meal. Others can't stand the stuff, and that's completely fine.

If you'd like to use one, your coach helps you choose one that fits how you eat.

What might a day of eating look like?

Here's one example for the first 14 days, dairy-free and built around eggs and fish:

  • Breakfast: eggs scrambled with spinach and peppers.
  • Lunch: a big salad topped with salmon, or with a few hard-boiled eggs if you don't eat fish.
  • Dinner: the same vegetables and sides as your family, with fish or a veggie frittata as your protein.
  • Later, once dairy is back: Greek yogurt with berries makes an easy breakfast or snack.

Real food. One dinner for the whole table. Your coach adjusts it as you go.

Can I really lose fat without eating meat?

Yes.

What changes your body composition is enough protein, strength training and a plan you can actually live with. Your coach handles the first and the third around how you eat. The workouts are the same for everyone, at home with a set of dumbbells, a Swiss ball and fabric bands.

We've helped 1,000+ women lose 10 to 20 lbs of fat in 8 weeks, and they don't all eat the same way.

Your way of eating was never the problem.

You just needed a plan that was built for it.

Marianne talks about this, too

I sat down with Marianne, a mom of three, to talk about why so many women over 40 feel constantly drained, and three fixes that help: strength training, more protein and staying hydrated.

Ready for a plan that fits the way you eat?

You don't have to figure out your protein on your own.

Start with the short video on our homepage at fortyfwd.com. It walks through why your body stopped responding after 40 and the method we use to change that.

If it sounds like you, apply for a call with Chris.

He reads every application himself. On the call, he'll ask how you eat right now and tell you straight whether the program is the right fit. If it is, he walks you through the investment then, once you both know it's a fit.

Your kitchen.

Your rules.

A plan built for both.
