How much time does this actually take? I'm already stretched thin and I travel.
About 4 to 5 hours a week, all in. That covers five follow-along workouts at home of about 50 minutes each (one of them optional), a bit of food prep and one weekly check-in with your coach. No gym, no commute, no class times. And when you travel, your plan comes with you.
I won't pretend it takes 10 minutes a day.
It takes real time and real commitment.
Here's exactly where those hours go, and how they fit a life that's already full.
Where do the 4 to 5 hours actually go?
Here's a typical week in the 8-week 35+ Metabolic Reset:
- Workouts, about 50 minutes each. Five a week: three strength, two conditioning, and one of them is optional. They're follow-along videos, so you just press play.
- A bit of food prep. Your plan is built around the groceries you already buy and the meals your family already eats. When you need ideas, my recipes are right there.
- One weekly check-in. You and your coach look at your week, and she adjusts the plan for the one ahead.
- Your coach between check-ins. For the "is this normal?" questions, so they don't sit in your head all week.
That's the whole list.
No gym bag. No drive across town. No class schedule to build your day around.
Can I really fit the workouts around my schedule?
Yes. This is the part women are most surprised by.
There are no live class times. You do the workouts at home, at whatever time of day works for you.
A few things that make it fit:
- Mornings, when life allows. We'll usually nudge you toward a morning workout, and a lot of the women we coach get theirs done before the kids wake up. If evenings are all you've got, here's what we suggest about evening workouts.
- Seven days to fit five workouts. You can spread them across the week, weekend included. Chris's own example: workouts on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, a walk on Thursday, then Friday and Saturday.
- Minimal equipment. A set of dumbbells, a Swiss ball and some fabric bands. Never lifted before? Start with how strength training at home works for beginners.
- Shrink it instead of skipping it. A brutal day doesn't erase your week. A shorter workout counts. A walk counts. More on that in how to stick with it past week 3.
I've been stretched thin too
In my early 30s, I was raising my daughter mostly on my own and building an event planning company.
I was barely eating. Going to bed late. Waking up super early.
And the second life got busy, my workouts were the first thing to go.
Sound familiar?
The turning point was admitting I couldn't do it on my own. I hired the best coach I could find, and he taught me how to fuel my body, how to train and how to recover.
That coach was Chris.
Here's the thing. Busy women need a plan that already knows how full the week is.
What happens when I travel?
Travel is where most plans fall apart. We build for it from day one.
- Bodyweight workouts for the road. There are workouts built for when you travel. A hotel-room workout counts. So does a walk.
- Tell your coach before you go. She'll adjust your plan for the trip. Chris asks every woman for one thing: "All we want from you is communication."
- Keep it simple while you're away. Protein at most meals, move every day, sleep and water.
- Then enjoy the trip. Here's how we handle wine, eating out and vacations.
We tell women this all the time: your body learns to trust you. When you consistently feed it, move it and let it sleep, it starts to trust you. And when it does, one work trip doesn't change your body.
Will this take more time than what I'm doing now?
For a lot of the women we talk to, no.
They're already spending hours on random classes, long cardio sessions and a different plan every Monday. Chris has a name for that: a "vomit of exercise." Lots of effort, no clear direction.
The Reset swaps that for fewer, focused hours that build on each other week to week.
And it gives some time back:
- No commute to a gym or a class.
- No standing in the kitchen at 6 p.m. wondering what to make. Your plan already answered it.
- No calorie counting, food scales or macro tracking. That one alone saves a lot of evenings.
Most women come to us wanting to lose weight. What they actually want to lose is fat.
In our experience, that comes from the right few hours, done consistently, week after week.
We've helped 1,000+ women lose 10 to 20 lbs of fat in 8 weeks. A lot of them came to us just as stretched thin as you are.
Should I wait until life calms down?
Can we please stop pretending life is going to calm down next month?
There will always be a work deadline, a trip, a kid with a fever.
But I'll be honest with you, too. This program asks for real time and real commitment. That's why we're application-only. We work with women who are ready to show up for those 4 to 5 hours, even on the busy weeks.
If that's you, the busy weeks are exactly what your coach is there for.
Erin found the time
I sat down with Erin, a 41-year-old mom of two, about how she broke out of the "I don't have time" mindset and built consistency, even over the summer, while juggling motherhood and work.
Trip coming up? Here's how to keep your progress when you travel.
Ready to see if it fits your week?
Your week is already full.
Let's build a plan around the hours you have.
Start with the short video on our homepage at fortyfwd.com. It walks through why your body stopped responding after 40 and the method we use to change that.
If it sounds like you, apply for a call with Chris.
He reads every application himself. On the call, he'll look at your real week, your travel and your schedule, and tell you straight whether the program is the right fit. If it is, he walks you through the investment then, once you both know it's a fit.
Four to five hours a week.
At home, on your schedule.
Let's make them count.
